INDIA: My travels in India consisted of sketch book work - drawing and sketching scenes whenever I was able to. This was an easy and unobtrusive way of creating a diary of images that I could later create paintings from.
NEPAL: My time in Nepal offered amazing light looking up to the vastness of the Himalayas from the Annapurna circuit. There were some wonderful, rusty coloured skies which inspired my use of rust to paint on.
SRI LANKA: I spent six months painting in Sri Lanka. The sweltering temperature proved to be a challenging environment in which to paint. Here, I created works depicting the contrast between the extreme heat on land and the cool skies, especially across the ocean.
